In Bismarck-“Progress” Begins With “P”- So Does “Panda”
Should we be negative about any progress that has developed so far in Bismarck/Mandan?
I understand the reluctance of some people who have written in on a local social media Facebook page - because of the sad closures of restaurants and businesses in our city, IF a new place is under the planning stages of opening its doors for the first time, such as Sazón, which will be moving into 4510 Skyline Crossings, you'll recognize that address from the wonderful food and service that MacKenzie River Pizza Pub and Grill served up for over 10 years.
So the trend we all have experienced is sad, big-time. Bismarck also lost Carino's, which was another popular loved tradition. People have a right to express their own thoughts and the Bismarck People Reporting News is the perfect avenue for that. While loyalty to a familiar restaurant is common, it's tough when their doors close for good. Forward motion is always good, so when we lost Carino's, a lot of its employees were hired at The Tavern Grill Restaurant & Bar, over at 1802 N 12th St. They opened about a month ago.
"Why should I support a new place when so many others have closed?"
My answer to that is, once again, to try and move forward, and be positive. Why be bitter towards a new place that will bring something new to Bismarck? Progress is something NOT to be denied, and Panda Express was a vision that so many looked forward to - and isn't that awesome? Once again it is your right to still believe that new places won't make it, but let's support the many that are excited! Panda Is right next to Costco. The cover picture was taken by ReNae Lynn - inside Panda - she along with a ton of other Bismarck/Mandan residents embraced PROGRESS.
