Mother Nature can't ruin all the traditional fun of an Easter Egg Hunt

She can sure though. Last week we ( Bismarck and Mandan ) all heard the news of a potential HUGE storm in direct contact with us - this past weekend. We have been pretty lucky with a mild winter, no major blizzards, and just a week or so of temperatures below 0. So with all the excitement of the 7th Annual Optimist Easter Egg Hunt planned for yesterday, a decision had to be made last Friday.

Sir Isaac Newton once said,  "The GRAVITY of the situation is this, never HIDE Easter Eggs in 5 feet of snow..."

I think that was him that said that, but whatever. The bottom of the line is this:

"Due to the impending winter storm, our Easter Egg Hunt committee made the decision to reschedule this fun-filled event to take place on Sunday, April 7th starting at 1:30 pm at the ND Capitol Grounds Each year several hundred kids are beyond egg-cited to take part in this egg hunt and we weren’t going to have some snow stop us from hosting it this year! We realize that this event will now be after Easter this year, but no worries, the Easter Bunny has guaranteed us that 12,000 eggs will still be available for the kids to hunt down!  In addition, this year’s hunt will also have 45 prizes and 3 Grand Prizes, including a trike, a scooter and some lawn games for 3 lucky kids who end up finding an Easter egg with a golden ticket"  That was what was released on Friday from the Easter Egg Hunt Committee Members.

So mark this down - April 7th!!!!  1:30 pm at the ND Capitol Grounds
